Dan and Lynda started Muskoka Agility Dogs after they found just the right property
10 minutes west of Huntsville in the fall of 1999. The 65 acres include waterfront on Clark Lake and walking trails through the forest that surrounds the house. There's a large meadow for the fenced ring for trials and lessons, and spacious open fields for exercising dogs.
The events at Muskoka Agility Dogs include a clinic in May, a fun match mid-July, and sanctioned AAC trials. Check that information on the Home page.
Lynda started competing in agility with Shadow, her young Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Shadow earned his ATChC at Rat Pack Dog Sports in 2001.
He now runs as a vet. In 2003, He placed first in 16' Specials at the Ontario Regionals.
Chica, her 4-year old mini Aussie is her newest partner.
Lynda started judging AAC trials in 2001 and earned her Master Judge qualification in 2003.
Dan became active in '01 with Spryte, also a Toller. Spryte earned her ATChC in 2003, (also at Rat Pack Dog Sports), had puppies in April 2003(a busy year!!) and one of them, Rebecca, is Dan's newest partner.
Dan started judging in April 2003, and earned his Master Judge qualification in the summer of 2005.
The instructors at Muskoka Agility Dogs are Lynda and Dan. If you are interested in agility classes, they are offered at various levels - pre-agility, beginner and competitive agility.
The pre-agility classes focus on clicker training, using scaled down equipment and establish a base of focus for the dogs participating.
All levels of class run outdoors, from May to October.
